Mark Feneley has active and longstanding research interests, supported by peer reviewed funding.

These include

  1. Diagnostic and prognostic molecular markers in early stage cancer
  2. Molecular and genetic changes in prostate cancer, and their importance in clinical practice
  3. Role of androgens and androgen signalling in the regulation of benign and malignancy prostatic disease.
  4. Zonal differences in gene expression normal human prostate and its relation to disease.
  5. Intravesical therapies for bladder cancer
  6. Database applications supported by the NHS modernisation Agency
  7. Research on screening and early diagnosis of prostate cancer formed his MD at Cambridge University and his award of the Hunterian Professorship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997.
  8. He has been involved in multiple clinical trials.

He has published a large number of papers and book chapters.
